PrestaShop

PrestaShop has been one of my two specialities since I started out in 2019. I work directly on the core code, modules and theme, on recent installs as well as older versions still in production.

Describe my issue Chat on WhatsApp

  • 2019 e-commerce developer since
  • 1.6 → 9 PrestaShop versions covered
  • 3 working languages: FR, EN, TR
  • 100 % direct contact with the developer

No middleman: the person who replies is the one who works on the code.

Flexible, but demanding to maintain

PrestaShop allows a great deal of customisation, which is also what makes it hard to maintain over time: every module added, every core file override, every theme customisation is a potential friction point at update time. A good part of my work on this platform is untangling the layers of customisation accumulated over the years to work out what can be updated without breaking everything.

I work on shops with a small catalogue as well as installations with tens of thousands of references, where performance and indexing become central concerns.

What I do on PrestaShop

  • Troubleshooting and module fixes

Diagnosing an error, a module conflict or a regression after an update.

  • Version migration

Upgrading within the same branch, or migrating from a 1.6 install to a currently maintained version.

  • Custom modules and overrides

Building a dedicated module when nothing on the market matches the exact need.

  • Performance on large catalogues

Optimising queries and indexing for shops with a large product volume.

  • External integrations

Connecting to an ERP, a carrier or a marketplace, from the core or a dedicated module.

  • Audit before taking over

Assessing the real state of an existing install before committing to work or further development.

Frequently asked questions

Do you still work on PrestaShop 1.6?
Yes, for troubleshooting or migrating to a newer version. I flag the limits specific to a version no longer actively maintained by the publisher.
Do you build custom PrestaShop modules?
Yes, when no existing module fits the need, or when a specific feature needs to integrate cleanly with the platform's core.
Does a large catalogue cause particular problems?
It shifts the priorities: database queries, indexing and caching become more sensitive, and a performance audit often becomes worthwhile before any new development.
Will you take over a PrestaShop project built by someone else?
Yes, provided I can access the code and assess its state. I say clearly if customisations make clean work difficult without a larger rebuild.
Is PrestaShop still a good choice today?
It depends on the project: how much customisation you need, your product volume, and the skills available to maintain it long-term. I can discuss this honestly rather than recommend the platform by default.
How many modules have you already built for PrestaShop?
I don't put a number on this site, because it wouldn't say much about the real complexity of each module. What matters more is discussing your specific need and seeing whether it matches what I know how to build properly.
