A cosmetics store adapted to several markets
A cosmetics and wellness brand wanted to sell across several markets, with product pages compliant with each country's own requirements.
The context
Cosmetics products are subject to information requirements that vary from one country to another: ingredient lists, mandatory notices, specific warnings. A straight translation of the existing content wasn't enough: some product pages needed to show different information depending on the target market, while staying on the same platform and without needlessly duplicating the catalogue.
The goal was to build a multilingual store able to handle these market-by-market variations, without the team having to maintain a separate product page from scratch for every country.
What I did
-
Structuring the regulatory data
Separated product information common to every market from the fields that need to vary by country, such as the ingredient list or mandatory notices.
-
Multilingual setup and market-by-market management
Set up the required languages with a structure that lets the regulatory information shown for a given product be adjusted by destination country.
-
Completeness check before publishing
Automatic check that a product page actually has every mandatory notice expected for a market before it's made visible there.
-
Adapting the checkout flow
Adjusted delivery options and the notices shown at payment based on the customer's country, in line with local requirements.
